NORTHOPEDIC FAQ

We have assembled a list of NORTHOPEDIC frequently asked questions for your reference. Please contact us if you have any questions that aren't answered here.

Can you do shoe modifications to runners, tennis shoes or dress shoes? Or do you only work on black orthopedic looking shoes and boots?

We can do orthopedic modifications to virtually any shoe or boot. We try to match materials and colors as much as possible so the modifications are least noticeable. And of course we work on black shoes too.

Do you make shoes?

We don't make custom shoes or custom orthopedic shoes. If you have a need for custom made shoes please send us an email from our 'contact us' page with your specific needs and we'll forward your request to a shoe maker on our list. Click here

Do you make orthotics?

We don't make custom orthotics. Our specialty is modifying footwear. If you have a need for custom orthotics, please send us an email from our 'contact us' page with your specific needs and we'll forward your request to a custom orthotics lab on our list.

Can you measure me for braces, lifts or can you tell me what I need?

All work we do is from a prescription written by a foot care professional. We don’t have equipment or staff to measure leg length discrepancies etc. We also do not diagnose or prescribe.

Can I get a detailed receipt for ICBC, WCB, my insurance, income tax or health plan?

Our standard work order and proof of payment is sufficient in most cases. Should you need a more detailed invoice, please let us know and we’ll be glad to accommodate.

Do I need a prescription from a health professional to have NORTHOPEDIC do orthopedic footwear modifications for me?

Yes, if you are a first time NORTHOPEDIC client, you need to bring a prescription from a foot care professional. Once you are in our system, this is no longer needed, unless your needs have changed.
